Resumen

The use of story podcasts in English language teaching has been significant in improving listening to comprehension, providing benefits for teachers and also for students. Indeed, the selection of authentic story podcasts in English language learning can be considered a challenge, especially when looking for a podcast that fits the student's needs, especially with vocabulary at the student's level, a need that is to find authentic podcasts with understandable accents and at an understandable speed level, inquirers must carefully select story podcasts and that are also easily accessible. In this research, a sample of 15 sixth graders from La Mora Elementary School were sampled and a teacher interview was conducted, as well as a teacher observation guide and a student observation guide for data collection. As a result, the data derived from the use of the instruments aligned with the research objective, identifying and implementing authentic material tailored to the students' needs and level of English proficiency. This demonstrated a marked improvement in their listening comprehension skills in English language learning. Teachers have the opportunity to include story podcasts to help improve listening comprehension development in English language learning, making language learning more engaging and relevant, fostering a deeper connection between language and communication in everyday life
