Resumen

English motivation has a great importance for acquiring the language.

Our work is based on the lack of motivation on 4th year students secondary school in Dolores, Carazo.

In the second language acquisition we usually find that some students are not motivated to speak the language. We think that some of the factors that are influencing negatively in the development of the target language are the
following: Educational, social, and economical ones and how these factors limit the students' development in the performance.

We took into account the economical situation of which some of them have to work part- time what make the learner process difficult.

We are going to talk about the kind of methodology the teacher uses to encourage student's participation and the activities that promote the use of the speaking skill.

We analyzed students' way of living their behavior at school and the time they spend to practice the language.

Also we took into account the percentage that the students and the teacher speak English in the classroom You will observe a questionnaire and interview that we made to earch where the problem of this topic is.

Finally we will state possible solutions and recommendations to overcome all these factors that obstruct the learning process.
