Resumen
This research paper investigates short stories as a strategy to teach reading comprehension. The short stories were investigated and applied to know if teachers are using them to teach reading comprehension and if they are the most efficient for them. This work uses the qualitative research method to investigate teacher´s views. The instruments used were the observation and the interviewb which had been implemented in tenth grade of the high school at Colegio EMAUS Asambleas de Dios in Estelí. The sample considered was of 10 participants from a population of 26 students. The data found that the short stories as strategy improve the ability to comprehend texts to the students. That is when short stories are about an interesting topic.
