Resumen

English as a language involves macro skills such as listening, speaking, writing, and reading; in which every one of them encompasses micro skills. So,reading is assumed to be the central mean for learning new information, obtaining different explanations and for independent learning.

Thus, it is necessary that teachers develop all these skills in the students for an adequate acquisition of the
language, and they could be excellent professionals for the future generations. But teachers must be well prepared and they have the required knowledge to achieve the course goals.

Unfortunately most of the students are developing few reading skills and subskills in the English language learning process, such as making reference, reading between the lines, and others; becoming in a negative component in their academic and professional development. Consequently, many students complain about teaching process of reading skills and point it out as the principal issue for acquiring and developing English reading skills.

Finally, in this research some crucial aspects in the teaching process are emphasized, such as methodology, strategies and didactic resources concerning the
teaching process of reading skills, likewise the appropriateness of the assessment techniques for evaluating the teaching process of reading skills in the students
