Abstract

This research is based on the Effectiveness of the Functional Language Communication at Rigoberto López Pérez High School, Eleventh grade ´C´ morning shift in the first semester of 2015. Students from this school have faced different problems regarding functional communication production in the second language.Their oral communication development is affected by several reasons such as the techniques and activities used by the teacher, the lack of time and authentic material they are exposed. Besides this, it is important to mention the lack of participation and insufficient confidence while interacting in different activities in the classroom. This research allowed us to find out some pieces of advices to provide the teacher expecting that he may take them into consideration in future classes. Finally, it is expected that this research will help to improve the functional communication teaching.
