Resumen

The purpose of this investigation is to analyze the effectiveness of the 2009 curriculum in terms of the acquisition of the English language skills of eleventh grade students at Rigoberto López Pérez Institute in the first semester of 2015. To carry out our purpose we used several materials to get all information that we needed, for instance we analyze several documents based on curriculum, and we designed an interview for the teacher and a survey for the students in order to get their perception about the new study plan. Those techniques were shown to be an effective way of analyzing the data. Adding that this research paper has a lot of information about what the curriculum is, the elements of a curriculum, the definition of it, the characteristics of a curriculum are, the types of curriculum, the educational planning and evaluation of learning in secondary education has, the methodological design of this research paper, the sociological approach, what type of research it is, the result and analysis of this research paper, among others. This research paper it is a compilation of many important documents about the curriculum which were studied and analyzed in order to get the more important and useful information to support this research.
