Resumen

The crisis experienced due to the pandemic caused great changes in the educational field, since it forced the closure of many schools, which is why this research work focuses on evaluating the effectiveness of online education in the process of teaching English as a second language during COVID-19, in 4th grade students in the second semester of 2020. The objective of this research is to analyze its effectiveness in learning, that is why this research is very important since it describes the impact that the arrival of online education had and determines the advantages and disadvantages that this learning process had, which could contribute specifically to day-to-day teaching if it is used appropriately. The approach of this research is qualitative and a sample of 20 4th-grade students was taken, to whom surveys were applied, an interview was also conducted with the teacher, who pointed out that the arrival of online classes was a great alternative. because teaching was provided and classes did not stop. With this, we responded to the proposed objective and concluded that online classes during COVID-19 were the best tool used. Therefore, we must use educational platforms appropriately, which will help us increase knowledge, whether for our days or the future of other
